Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She co-founded The Huffington Post, is the founder and CEO of Thrive Global as well an writer of 15 novels. Arianna Huffington, a non-profit liberal news website, is a television personality author, author and philanthropist. She was born in Greece and immigrated to England in the year 16. When she attended Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA in Economics. It was her first time as a student who was not from the UK to be elected president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. The years that followed after her college graduation, she was an influential conservative syndicated journalist. In the years after that she launched The Huffington Post which featured criticism of the present political climate. Her site was able to bring in several notable contributors to post their views on culture and politics. Arianna became famous in 2003 when she ran independently in a recall election in California for the seat of then-Governor Davis. Additionally, she was a leader of an Detroit fuel-efficient car project. She was ranked 12th in Forbes' list of the most influential women in the media. In the same year, Guardian listed her among the top 100 journalists. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post in 2011 and named her president of the media group that also includes several other AOL products like Engadget AOL Music Style list and Patch Media. She was born to a journalist and management consultant Konstantinos and wife Elli Stasinopoulos. Even though she was in a close connection to both her mother and father the bond between them which shaped her. She showed leadership traits even in her early years. The British native moved to England when she was sixteen to further her studies and was enrolled into Girton College Cambridge. When she was in the college years, she joined the college debating society Cambridge Union where she became the first foreign and third female president. In 1972, she graduated with the degree of Master's in Economics. She was a journalist in the media, as well as host of a television show and a columnist after her graduation.
