Amal Clooney
Amal Clooney was birthed in Beirut. Her name comes of the form'ml' or 'amal' in Arabic, meaning "hope". It was just two years old when her family moved in Buckinghamshire from Lebanon in the Lebanese Civil War. [10] Her father Ramzi Alamuddin, a Lebanese Druze who was from the Alam al-Din dynasty village of Baakline in the Chouf district,[11] received his MBA degree from the American University of Beirut. In 1991[12][13] he returned to Lebanon when the Civil War ended. Her mother, Baria (nee Miknass), was born to a family of Sunni Muslims in Tripoli in Northern Lebanon,[14][11] and a Palestinian-Jordanian[15] mother. She was a journalist in the field of politics and foreign editor of the Saudi-owned newspaper al-Hayat. 16. She is the co-founder of the public relations company International Communication Experts, which is part of a larger company that specializes in celebrity guest bookings photographs for publicity, as well as event promotion. Amal has the eldest of 3 children: one half-sister (Tala) and two other siblings of her father's previous marriage. Amal went to Dr Challoner's high school located in Little Chalfont Buckinghamshire before going to the university. Following her graduation at St Hugh's College in Oxford with an Exhibition Grant as well as the Shrigley Award, she studied at St Hugh's College. The degree she received was a Master of Arts in Judiciary (BA) in the year 2000. She then entered New York University School of Law for the purpose of earning the Master of Laws degree (LL.M). She was awarded the Jack J. Katz Memorial Award for outstanding achievement in entertainment law.While studying at NYU she worked for one term in the office of Sonia Sotomayor, then a judge for the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and NYU Law faculty participant.
