Lars Mikkelsen-1Lars Dittmann Mikkelsen was born on May 6, 1964. He has appeared as Troels Hartmann (Copenhagen mayoral election candidate) in The Killing and [1] Charles Augustus Magnussen (third series of Sherlock) and the Russian president Viktor Petrov on Netflix's American House of Cards, and Grand Admiral Thrawn from Star Wars Rebels. He was awarded the Reumert Prize of Honour in 2011, aged of 27. In 1995, he was accepted to the National Theatre School of Denmark. Apart from his role in the drama series that was released globally as The Killing he subsequently appeared in two other internationally popular Danish drama series, Those Who Kill and Borgen III. He played the role of President of Russia in an episode of BBC drama Sherlock. In 2018 he was honored with an International Emmy Award. His role in Danish television drama Herrens Veje won him an International Emmy Award. The show was broadcast in the UK in 2019 as Ride Upon the Storm.
